FRP M3 Electric Mini Bike: Specs, Top Speed and How the Wheelie Gears Work

FRP's first electric mini bike is live at $2,099.99. Five gears, two of them for wheelies, 4,100W peak and up to 55 mph. Here is what every number means and why the wheelie gears are the slowest on the bike.

TL;DR

  • The M3 is FRP's first electric mini bike. It is $2,099.99 Basic and $2,199.99 Plus, in five colors, with free shipping. Pre-orders are expected to ship in early November 2026.
  • 4,100W peak motor, 107 lb-ft of torque at the wheel, up to 55 mph, up to 35 miles of range, 121 lb, 210 lb max load.
  • Five gears: three for riding (15, 30 and 55 mph) and two for wheelies. The wheelie gears are limited to 10 mph riding and 20 mph in a wheelie, so top speed and wheelie mode never happen together.
  • Auto-Wheelie keeps the front wheel up while the throttle sets the angle, 20° to 45°. Braking stays with you.
  • Off-road only. The M3 is not street legal.

The FRP M3 electric mini bike is live. It is the first FRP mini bike built from the ground up for electric power, and the headline feature is a pair of wheelie gears that sit above the three riding gears. The number most people ask about first is 55 mph, but the gear chart below is the more interesting answer, because it shows that FRP deliberately made the wheelie modes the slowest gears on the bike.

What does the FRP M3 cost and when does it ship?

Two trims, five colors, one price step between them.

The charger included depends on the configuration you pick, which is what changes the charge time from about nine hours to about six. Full terms are in the FRP after-sales policy for M3 electric bikes, and U.S. phone support is part of the package.

What do the FRP M3's five gears actually do?

This is the part worth understanding before anything else. The M3 has Park plus five gears, and each one carries its own speed cap.

Gear Speed cap What it is for
P (Park) Bike will not drive Engages automatically after 30 seconds without input
1st, ECO 15 mph Learning the throttle, first rides, handing the bike to someone new
2nd, DYNAMIC 30 mph Normal riding
3rd, SPORT 55 mph Full power, open space, experienced riders
4th, Wheelie 10 mph riding, 20 mph in a wheelie Practice mode, milder lift response
5th, Wheelie Pro 10 mph riding, 20 mph in a wheelie Stronger lift for experienced riders

Read the bottom two rows again. A 55 mph machine with a wheelie button sounds alarming until you see that the wheelie gears are capped at 10 mph for ordinary riding and 20 mph with the front wheel up. You cannot be in SPORT and in a wheelie gear at the same time. Choosing a wheelie gear is choosing to go slowly, which is exactly the condition under which a new rider should be practicing lifts.

How does the M3's wheelie assist work, and what does it not do?

Shifting to 4th or 5th turns on Auto-Wheelie. Pull the front wheel up and the system keeps it there, while the throttle sets the angle: anywhere from half to full throttle gives you 20° to 45°. It also drops out of wheelie mode automatically if the bike passes its preset tilt limit.

Braking still stays with the rider, and the tilt cut-out is a backstop rather than a substitute for rear-brake technique. The difference between the two wheelie gears is lift strength: 4th is the milder practice response, 5th is the stronger one. Practice in an open, flat area, start in 4th and wear a helmet and gear.

Plus trim ships with the matching wheelie bar, which bolts to the forward footpeg position on the frame. If you are starting from zero, our guide on learning wheelies on an electric mini bike walks through the practice order: lowest gear, lowest angle, cover the rear brake, raise the angle only when the current one feels boring.

FRP M3 specs

These are the published figures from the M3 product page. Range and top speed are measured under ideal conditions and vary with rider weight, terrain, temperature and riding style.

Two numbers are easy to skim past. The 107 lb-ft figure is torque at the wheel, not at the motor, which is why the bike pulls the way it does from a standstill; the motor itself is rated at 21 lb-ft. And the 3.5 mm rotor thickness matters more than the 6.7 in diameter, because thickness is what carries heat away on repeated hard stops. We covered why in electric torque versus gas mini bike feel.

What stops the M3 moving when you do not want it to?

An electric mini bike is silent when it is switched on, which is the situation that catches people out. The M3 answers that with hardware rather than a warning sticker.

  • Four-digit passcode. The bike powers on with a code you set, so there is no ignition key to lose. A separate key locks the battery compartment.
  • Auto Park. After 30 seconds without input the bike shifts to Park, and you squeeze a brake lever to ride again.
  • Auto power-off. After 10 minutes idle it shuts down, adjustable from 0 to 60 minutes.
  • Kickstand and brake cut-off. Lowering the kickstand or pulling either lever cuts motor power.

If you want the long version of why that matters more on electric than on gas, read why a parked electric mini bike can suddenly take off.

Who is the M3 for, and who should look elsewhere?

The M3 is an adult-size mini bike for teens and adults: 26 in seat height, 210 lb max load, 121 lb bike. Teen riders should ride with adult supervision, and a newer rider has a real path here, because ECO caps the bike at 15 mph until they are ready for more. Fit comes first either way, and our fit and controls guide covers how to check it.

Look elsewhere if you need a street-legal vehicle, if the rider is over the 210 lb limit, or if your riding day is long and far from an outlet. A full charge takes most of a working day on the standard charger, while a gas mini bike refills from a can in about a minute. If that is your situation, the gas versus electric buying comparison lays out the trade honestly, and FRP's gas mini bikes are in the mini bike collection.

Wherever you ride: the M3 is off-road only, not street legal, and not for public streets, roads or sidewalks. Ride on private property where you have permission or where this type of vehicle is allowed, wear a DOT helmet and gear, and check your state and city rules first.

FAQ

How much is the FRP M3 electric mini bike?

$2,099.99 in Basic trim and $2,199.99 in Plus trim, in five colors. Shipping is free, and pre-orders are expected to begin shipping in early November 2026.

How fast does the FRP M3 go?

Up to 55 mph in 3rd gear (SPORT), measured under ideal conditions. The lower gears cap lower on purpose: 15 mph in ECO and 30 mph in DYNAMIC.

What are the M3's five gears?

Park, then 1st (ECO) at 15 mph, 2nd (DYNAMIC) at 30 mph, 3rd (SPORT) at 55 mph, and 4th and 5th as the wheelie gears, limited to 10 mph riding and 20 mph in a wheelie. Top speed and wheelie mode are never available at the same time.

How does Auto-Wheelie work on the FRP M3?

Shift to 4th or 5th, pull the front wheel up, and the system keeps it there while the throttle sets the angle from 20° to 45°. Braking stays with you, and the system exits wheelie mode automatically past its preset tilt limit.

What is the range of the FRP M3 electric mini bike?

Up to 35 miles on a full charge of the 60V 23.4Ah (1,348 Wh) battery, under ideal conditions. Charging takes about 6 hours with the 5A charger or about 9 hours with the 3A charger.

Is the FRP M3 street legal?

No. It is an off-road mini bike, not intended for public streets, roads or sidewalks. Ride on private property where you have permission or where this type of vehicle is allowed, and check local rules first.
