return to shopIf you are shopping for an electric mini bike for teens, the first question is usually whether the bike suits the rider and the budget. The FRP M3 electric mini bike starts at $2,099.99, has a seat about 26 inches high and weighs 121 lb. Its maximum load is 210 lb, according to the M3 owner’s manual.
Those numbers give you a useful starting point. The M3 brings classic mini bike proportions, electric power and two dedicated wheelie modes to riders who want a recreational powersports bike. Its size, weight and controls deserve a closer look before you decide it is the right match for a particular teen.
- Put it on your shortlist for its mini bike styling, selectable wheelie response, hydraulic brakes and removable battery.
- Check the fit first: reach to the bars and brake levers, foot placement, the manual’s rider requirements and the rider’s ability to handle a 121 lb bike.
- Budget for the whole setup: the selected package, protective gear, charging space and any delivery costs shown at checkout.
Will the M3 fit your teen?
“Mini bike” is a category name, so use measurements rather than the name to judge fit. The M3 manual lists the following dimensions and limits:
| M3 specification | Published figure | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Seat height | 25.98 in, approximately 26 in | Compare this with the rider’s inseam and seated position. Reach to the controls matters too. |
| Curb weight | 121 lb | Consider handling the bike while parking, moving it into storage or loading it for transport. |
| Maximum load | 210 lb | Check the manual’s loading requirements for the intended rider and carried items. |
| Overall length | 53.1 in | Measure the available storage and transport space. |
| Footpeg placement | Two mounting positions | Provides a choice of foot placement within the bike’s fixed frame dimensions. |

A rider should be able to reach and operate the controls comfortably. If a parent and teen will share the bike, check each person’s fit separately. Seat height and the two footpeg positions are starting points; handlebar reach, legroom and control access still need to suit the individual rider. For help, send FRP the rider’s height, inseam and experience before ordering.
What do the two wheelie modes actually do?
The M3’s wheelie modes are a specific reason some riders will consider this bike. Practice mode provides milder lift; advanced mode provides a stronger response. FRP developed the separate settings with feedback from its user community and riders at events in Texas and Colorado.
The rider uses the throttle to control front-wheel lift in either setting. The system exits wheelie mode if the bike exceeds a preset tilt limit. Balance and braking remain with the rider throughout.
These settings change the wheelie response. They should be evaluated as a skill-specific feature when deciding whether the M3 suits a teen’s experience. Becoming familiar with normal throttle and brake operation comes before choosing to practice wheelies.
For a family choosing its first powersports bike, the useful question is how well the rider can operate and manage the whole vehicle. Its 3.0 kW rated motor, 4.1 kW peak output and 121 lb curb weight are part of that decision.
What supports control beyond the motor?
The M3 uses front and rear dual-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 170 mm stainless-steel rotors, each 3.5 mm thick. Pulling either brake lever also cuts motor power. Up front, a hydraulic telescopic fork provides suspension; a steel frame supports the chassis.
While parked, lowering the side stand cuts motor power. The bike enters parking mode after 30 seconds of inactivity and shuts down after 10 minutes. These features address stops to talk, breaks between rides and the moment someone forgets to switch off.
For a teen buyer, they are useful details to understand together with the controls and pre-ride checks described in the manual.
Can the battery be removed, and how long does charging take?
The M3 has a 60V-platform, 23.4Ah removable battery. Owners can charge it on the bike or remove it to charge separately. A key-locked compartment secures the battery when installed.
The owner’s manual lists approximately 9 hours with a 3A charger or 6 hours with a 5A charger. Confirm the charger supplied with the selected package. Actual charging time depends on the battery’s starting charge and conditions; use the charger and charging instructions specified by FRP.
Plan the charging location before the bike arrives. The removable pack can make that arrangement more convenient, but the bike still needs suitable storage space.
How much does the M3 cost, and which package should you choose?
At launch, the M3 product page lists Basic at $2,099.99 and Plus at $2,199.99—a $100 difference. Gold, Red, Purple, Black and White are listed as color choices.
Compare the package contents against how the rider plans to use the bike, then check the complete checkout total. Protective gear and transport or storage needs belong in the budget as well.
M3 pre-orders include a complimentary FRP-exclusive, custom-designed insulated tumbler and hat. Shipping is expected to begin in early November 2026, with an email confirmation when the order ships. Refer to the M3 product page for the current offer and ordering details.
Is the M3 the right electric mini bike for your teen?
The M3 is worth considering for a rider who meets its requirements, wants classic mini bike styling and is interested in electric power and wheelie practice. The removable battery, hydraulic brakes and front fork provide specific equipment to compare against other bikes.
If the rider’s reach, experience or ability to manage a 121 lb vehicle is uncertain, resolve that before buying. The manual also specifies off-road use, so plan an appropriate, permitted riding location. Riders should use the protective equipment and supervision called for in the manual.
For everyday ownership, the M3 includes USB-A and USB-C charging ports, password startup and a removable tail bag that converts into a backpack. FRP provides a one-year vehicle and battery warranty, subject to its terms, and U.S. telephone customer support. A companion app is in development.
Before placing an order, you should be able to answer four questions: Does the rider meet the requirements and fit the bike? Can they handle its weight and controls? Where will it be ridden and charged? Does the selected package fit the budget?
