A speed limiter is a governor used to limit the top speed of a mini bike.

Top speed can be affected by various factors such as road conditions, rider weight, and more. In our tests, the maximum speed reached was 28 mph.
Yes, it works. But we recommend using 15W-40 for engine oil. Because different types of oil have different viscosities, they may affect engine performance.
Approximately 0.35 L.
We have a maximum weight limit of 220 lbs for riding. As long as you are below that weight, height is not a particular restriction. The maximum weight capacity of the GMB100 is 220 lbs.
We recommend using 15W-40 for engine oil and #87 for gas.

It's top speed is 18 mph, but that depends on the terrain, rider weight, etc. For kids' safety, we’ve added a speed limiter on the handlebar, so parents can easily adjust the max speed.

Yes, the Sahara 40 is easy to assemble. It comes 85% pre-assembled, and you just need to put together the remaining parts: the front protector, rear handle, tires, handlebar, number plate, plastic protective cover, heat shield, and stickers. Plus, there's a detailed step-by-step video to guide you through the process, making it even easier.

Yes, for safe riding, we’ve added a speed limiter on the handlebar, so parents can easily adjust the maximum speed.

No, our Sahara 40 comes with a heat protector to keep your legs safe from harm.

Top speed can be affected by various factors such as road conditions, rider weight, and more. In our tests, the maximum speed reached was 28 mph.

We recommend using 15W-40 for engine oil and #87 for gas.

We recommend using 10W-40 for engine oil and #91 for gas.

The Max version comes with complementary - Goggles, gloves and neck gaiter.

The Ogemaw 40, a mini dirt bike for kids, has a top speed of 20 mph, but that can vary depending on terrain, rider weight, and other factors. For added safety, we’ve included a speed limiter on the handlebar, allowing parents to easily adjust the maximum speed to suit their child's needs.

For the Ogemaw 40, a mini dirt bike for kids, we recommend using 10W/40 engine oil and #87 unleaded gasoline for optimal performance.

The Ogemaw 40 40cc 4-stroke dirt bike has a maximum fuel capacity of 0.26 gal, allowing it to run 15 miles on a full tank.

Yep, the Ogemaw 40 mini dirt bike for kids is super easy to put together. It’s 95% pre-assembled, so you just have to attach a few parts. Plus, there’s a step-by-step video to make it a breeze!

Yes, we've included a speed limiter on the handlebar, allowing parents to easily adjust the maximum speed, making it a mini dirt bike that is very safe for kids.

Top speed can be affected by various factors such as road conditions, rider weight, and more. In our tests, the maximum speed reached was 18 mph, which is tailored for young riders.

When the engine is cold, you need to adjust the lever to the choke position. After the engine has roared, you need to adjust the lever to the run position in order to drive normally. Even if the engine stalls after starting, the lever needs to be in the run position in order to start successfully.
Yes, you can use engine oil to lubricate the clutch. Please email csr@frpmoto.com or join our WhatsApp community for better assistance. Our professional staff can better help you there. The WhatsApp community link is: https://chat.whatsapp.com/GEb8OnfZA9PBFGpq4CKh17.
Hi there, thanks for your advice. If you need any help, please email csr@frpmoto.com. Thank you!

We recommend riding in private areas since it is a mini dirt bike for kids, as riding on public roads may pose safety risks and could potentially violate local regulations.

Yes, it's designed with beginners in mind, especially kids who are just starting out. The engine is easy to pull-start—usually within three pulls. Plus, it features a speed limiter to adjust the maximum speed according to the rider's skill level and an emergency kill switch for immediate engine shutdown in case of an emergency, making it a great choice as a mini dirt bike for kids.

Every rider needs: (1) A DOT or SNELL-certified full-face helmet, (2) Elbow and knee pads, (3) Riding gloves, (4) Ankle-covering boots. For dirt bikes and go karts, also add a chest/back protector and MX riding pants. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), helmet use reduces head injury risk by 69%. Never allow riding without full gear — regardless of speed setting.
Look for DOT (Department of Transportation) or SNELL certified helmets. DOT is the minimum legal standard; SNELL indicates higher impact testing. For dirt bikes and go karts, choose a full-face MX helmet — not a bicycle helmet. The ATV Safety Institute recommends helmets specifically designed for off-road use for all riders under 16.
The ATV Safety Institute recommends gas-powered off-road vehicles for children ages 6 and up, with adult supervision. A 40cc dirt bike like the FRP Ogemaw 40 is designed for ages 6–10. Children must have basic balance skills, understand stop/go commands, and always ride with the speed limiter engaged at first. Never allow unsupervised riding for children under 16.
Yes. FRP recommends adult supervision for all riders under 16. The CPSC specifically advises that children under 16 should never ride vehicles designed for adults. The ATV Safety Institute offers free safety training at atvsafety.org — recommended before any child's first ride.
Yes. FRP products are designed to comply with applicable U.S. consumer product safety standards, including CPSC guidelines for youth recreational vehicles. All FRP gas vehicles include mandatory safety features: speed limiter (governor), automatic centrifugal clutch, low seat height, and stable geometry designed for young riders.
Yes, especially for dirt bikes and go karts. A chest/back protector guards against impact injuries from falls and debris. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends full protective gear for all child powersports riders. FRP strongly recommends chest protection for any rider on rough terrain.
4-step progression: (1) Start on flat open grass with speed limiter fully tightened. (2) Practice starting, stopping, and turning at minimum speed for 2–3 sessions. (3) Increase speed only when your child can stop confidently every time. (4) Introduce mild terrain only after 5+ hours of flat-ground practice. Always ride alongside your child for the first sessions.
Gas dirt bikes and ATVs: dry dirt trails, grass, packed gravel on private property. Mini bikes: flat to moderately rough terrain. Pocket bikes: smooth flat surfaces only. Go karts: flat ground and driveways. Avoid wet, icy, steep, or rocky terrain. Never ride on public roads.
No. FRP vehicles are designed for dry conditions only. Wet terrain can cause loss of traction and falls, damage the electrical system, clog the air filter on gas models, and accelerate chain and brake wear. After any damp riding, dry the vehicle completely and lubricate the chain before storage.
The FRP Ogemaw 40 40cc Dirt Bike is the top choice. It is 95% pre-assembled, features an automatic centrifugal clutch (no gear shifting), a speed limiter, and pull-start that fires within 3 pulls. Max speed is 20 mph but can be restricted to under 10 mph for new riders. Always start at the lowest speed setting.
A mini bike (GMB100) has larger wheels, higher ground clearance, and an upright riding position — built for mixed terrain. A dirt bike (Ogemaw 40, DB001) has knobby tires, front suspension, and a more aggressive posture for off-road use. Mini bikes are more versatile; dirt bikes are purpose-built for trails and rough ground.
Go karts (4 wheels, cage): more stable, better for hesitant beginners, great for flat surfaces and driveways. Dirt bikes (2 wheels): require balance and coordination, better for outdoor trails and adventurous kids. If your child has never ridden anything before, a go kart is the safer first introduction.
Your child is ready when they can: (1) consistently stop within 10 feet at current max speed, (2) execute controlled turns in both directions, (3) start the bike independently, (4) ride 30+ minutes without loss of focus. Most riders are ready to step up after 20–30 hours on their current model.
Yes. The GMB100 is appropriate for riders ages 10+ with some riding experience. A 12-year-old with basic skills can handle it safely with the speed limiter set to 50% initially. The GMB100 supports up to 220 lbs and reaches 28 mph at full throttle — always use full protective gear.
For beginners, a mini bike (GMB100) is better. It has a more upright riding position, larger wheels, better stability, and higher ground clearance. A pocket bike (GPB01/02/03) is low to the ground and narrow — better suited for experienced riders on flat smooth surfaces like tracks.
For trail riding, the FRP Ogemaw 40 Dirt Bike is the best choice. It features knobby off-road tires, front suspension, and 40cc power tuned for varied terrain. For a 4-wheel option, the Sahara 40 ATV provides stability with off-road capability. Both handle dry dirt trails, grass, and packed gravel.
Pre-ride checklist: (1) Tire pressure — check sidewall for PSI. (2) Oil level (gas) — between MIN and MAX on dipstick. (3) Fuel (gas) — fresh correct-octane gas. (4) Speed limiter — fully tightened for first ride. (5) All bolts tight — handlebars, wheels, seat. (6) Brakes — squeeze and confirm resistance. (7) Full gear on — helmet, gloves, pads, boots. Run this checklist before every ride.
For the first 2 hours of riding: keep throttle below 50%, avoid sustained full-throttle runs, alternate between light and moderate acceleration. Change the oil immediately after break-in — it flushes metal particles from the new engine. After break-in, the engine runs smoother and more efficiently. Skipping break-in shortens engine life significantly.
Check the tire sidewall for the manufacturer's recommended PSI — printed on every tire. For most FRP dirt bikes: front 12–15 PSI, rear 14–18 PSI. For the GMB100 tubeless vacuum tires: typically 25–30 PSI. Always check cold tire pressure before riding, not after.
Yes. FRP publishes assembly and maintenance tutorial videos on YouTube. Search 'FRP [model name] tutorial' — for example 'FRP GMB100 assembly' or 'FRP Ogemaw 40 first start.' Videos cover unboxing, assembly, first engine start, speed limiter adjustment, oil change, and common troubleshooting.
First-start steps: (1) Fill tank with correct octane fuel. (2) Check oil — fill to MAX if empty. (3) Set fuel petcock to ON. (4) Set choke to CHOKE. (5) Pull starter cord firmly until engine fires (1–5 pulls). (6) Switch choke to RUN after 30 seconds. (7) Let idle 2–3 minutes before riding. If engine floods — wait 5 minutes, set choke to RUN, pull 3–5 times without choke.
The GMB100 arrives 85–90% pre-assembled. Assembly typically takes 20–30 minutes: attach handlebars, front wheel, and mirrors. All required tools are included in the package. FRP provides a step-by-step video on YouTube — search 'FRP GMB100 assembly' for the official guide.
Yes. The Ogemaw 40 is designed for off-road use on grass, dirt trails, packed gravel, and moderately uneven terrain. Its knobby tires provide traction on loose surfaces. Avoid deep mud, standing water, or slopes over 30 degrees. It is not designed for pavement — knobby tires wear faster and brake poorly on asphalt.
Yes. The GMB100's 99cc engine, larger wheels, and higher ground clearance handle mild trails, grass, and gentle hills well. For steep hills: reduce speed before the incline and maintain steady throttle. The GMB100 has no front suspension, so avoid large rocks, deep ruts, or jump terrain.
FRP dirt bikes (Ogemaw 40, DB001, DB002, DB003) are designed for: dry dirt trails, grass fields, packed gravel, mild hillsides, and private off-road property. Avoid: deep mud (clogs air filter), water crossings (electrical damage risk), and rocky terrain with drops. Always inspect terrain for holes and obstacles before your child rides.
The 79cc Gas Go Kart performs best on flat hard surfaces (driveways, concrete, hard-packed dirt). Grass significantly reduces speed and increases fuel consumption. For grass terrain, the gas go kart performs well due to higher torque. It is not designed for rough off-road terrain.
The Sahara 40 is specifically designed for off-road use. Its 4-wheel design provides stability on dirt, grass, and gravel. It features a heat protector shield, automatic centrifugal clutch, and 40cc engine tuned for varied terrain — ideal for riders ages 6–12 who want off-road capability with the safety of four wheels.
FRP dirt bikes (Ogemaw 40, DB001) feature knobby tires and dirt-specific geometry, making them better for trail riding than the Coleman CT200U which is more of a flat-terrain mini bike. For pure off-road dirt trail use, FRP outperforms Coleman's mini bike lineup. For flat-ground recreational riding, both brands are comparable.
Yes. The Ogemaw 40 features front suspension forks, which absorb bumps and improve comfort on rough terrain. This is a key advantage over mini bikes like the GMB100 (which has no front suspension) for trail and off-road riding. The front suspension makes the Ogemaw 40 the best FRP choice for actual dirt trail use.
FRP vehicles are designed for recreational off-road riding, not sanctioned competition. They are ideal for learning — start on FRP to develop skills, then upgrade to a competition-spec bike (Honda CRF, Yamaha TTR) when your child is ready for organized racing events.
Yes. FRP offers financing through PayTomorrow at checkout on frpmoto.com. PayTomorrow provides installment payment plans with no hard credit pull for pre-qualification. Approval takes under 2 minutes. Select PayTomorrow at checkout to see your available options before committing.

PayTomorrow is a buy now, pay later (BNPL) service available at frpmoto.com checkout. You receive the product immediately and pay in monthly installments. Pre-qualification requires no hard credit pull. Select PayTomorrow at checkout, complete a 2-minute application, and see your payment options instantly.
Check the air filter every 10 hours of riding. Foam filters: remove, tap out dirt, wash with warm soapy water, dry completely, apply light air filter oil before reinstalling. Paper filters: tap out dirt only — do not wash. Replace paper filters every 20–30 hours or when visibly clogged. A clogged filter causes poor performance and increased fuel consumption.
For storage over 2 weeks: (1) Drain fuel or add Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer. (2) Change oil — never store with used oil. (3) Clean air filter. (4) Lubricate chain. (5) Inflate tires to correct PSI. (6) Store indoors covered.
Clean the carburetor at the start of each season and any time the bike runs rough, stalls, or won't idle. Spray carburetor cleaner into the jet (small brass screw inside the float bowl). Remove the float bowl and clean any sediment. If the pilot jet is blocked, use a fine wire to clear it. A carburetor rebuild kit (~$5–10) is available for most FRP models.
No. The GMB100 is a rigid-frame mini bike without front suspension forks — designed for flat to mildly rough terrain. For riders who want to tackle more demanding trails with bumps and roots, the Ogemaw 40 or DB001 (which have front suspension) are better choices for trail comfort.
Approximate seat heights: Ogemaw 40: ~26 inches. DB001/DB002 50cc: ~27 inches. Sahara 40 ATV seat: ~22 inches. GMB100 Mini Bike: ~28 inches. As a guide: the rider should be able to touch the ground with at least one foot flat while seated. Verify your child can reach the ground before purchasing.

Yes. The FRP GMB100U is a 99cc gas mini bike built with a steel front cargo rack and an optional rear tow bar. It is the utility build of the GMB100 platform, made to carry gear rather than just a rider.
The GMB100U has a steel front cargo rack for coolers, dry bags, firewood, and tools, plus a rear tow bar that has pulled folding camp wagons loaded with 50-80 lbs of gear across flat and gently graded ground. Rider weight capacity is 185 lbs. Secure cargo with bungee cords or a cargo net.
Yes. The rear tow bar is designed to connect standard folding camp wagons and small trailers, with integrated tie-down points. The 99cc 4-stroke engine handles the added weight on normal campground, trail, and property surfaces. It is built for flat and gently graded ground, not steep hills.
The GMB100U is well suited to hauling gear and game in and out of private hunting land - the front cargo rack and rear tow bar carry packs, coolers, and a loaded game cart. Note that it has a gas engine, so it is not silent; for stealth-critical stalking an electric bike is quieter. For access and hauling on private property, it is a capable, low-cost option.
Most private campgrounds and RV parks allow gas mini bikes on their internal roads and trails - always check the specific campground's rules first. The GMB100U is ideal for camping: it hauls your gear to the site in one trip, fits in a truck bed alongside your equipment at 79.5 lbs, and gets about 27 miles per tank. It is not street legal, so it cannot be ridden on public roads to reach the campground.
Yes - the GMB100U is a practical, low-cost alternative to an ATV for light property work. It carries tools and supplies on the front cargo rack, tows a wagon of materials with the rear tow bar, and fits through narrow gates. It replaces a lot of walking across acreage at a fraction of the price of an ATV or golf cart.
They share the same 99cc 4-stroke engine. The base GMB100 is the sport build - 28 mph, 220 lb capacity, from $379.99. The GMB100U is the utility build - it adds a front cargo rack and rear tow bar for hauling and towing, tuned for torque at 24 mph with a 185 lb rider capacity. Choose the GMB100 for speed and the highest weight capacity; choose the GMB100U if you need to carry and tow gear.
24 mph top speed on flat ground with a 150 lb rider, and about 27 miles per 0.36-gallon tank. The 99cc 4-stroke engine is tuned for torque and utility hauling rather than outright top speed.
