M3 FAQs

When will my M3 electric mini bike ship?

Pre-orders are expected to begin shipping in early November 2026. When your order leaves our warehouse, you’ll receive an email confirmation with tracking details so you can follow your M3 all the way to your door. The full launch breakdown is in the FRP M3 specs and gear chart.

Is shipping free on the M3?

Yes. Shipping on the M3 is free, and every order ships with tracking. When your bike arrives, take a few minutes to inspect the box and the bike. If you spot any shipping damage, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos or video of the packaging and the bike so we can review it quickly (see our shipping damage policy).

Is the M3 an electric mini bike for adults or teens?

Both. The M3 is an adult-size electric mini bike built for teens and adults, with a 26 in seat height, a 38.6 in wheelbase and a 210 lb max load; the bike itself weighs 121 lb. Teen riders should ride with adult supervision, and newer riders can start in ECO (1st gear) and step up as their skills grow. For how to check the fit before you buy, see electric mini bike fit and controls for teen riders.

Why choose an electric mini bike over a gas mini bike?

An electric mini bike skips the gas, oil and pull-starting. The M3 powers on with a passcode, runs quietly and delivers 107 lb-ft of torque at the wheel the moment you twist the throttle, with no clutch to learn or engine to warm up. There are no oil changes, spark plugs or carburetor to look after, and you charge it from a standard household outlet. Still deciding? Our gas vs. electric mini bike guide compares both in detail. We also worked out what switching actually costs in gas versus electric mini bike running costs.

How do I charge the M3’s battery, and how long does it take?

Charge the M3’s 60V, 23.4 Ah (1,404 Wh) lithium-ion battery on the bike, or remove it and charge it separately. A full charge takes about 6 hours with the 5A fast charger or about 9 hours with the 3A charger, depending on your configuration. Both plug into a standard household outlet, and a keyed lock secures the battery when it’s installed. See the real numbers and how to check them.

What motor does the M3 use?

The M3 is powered by an air-cooled permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) rated at 3,000W, with a 4,100W peak (about 5.5 hp), managed by a 60V FOC controller. Power reaches the rear wheel through a 420H chain, giving this battery-powered mini bike 107 lb-ft of torque at the wheel. How that torque feels next to a gas engine is covered in electric torque versus gas mini bike feel. See the real numbers and how to check them.

How fast does the M3 really go, and how far on a charge?

Top speed is 55 mph, which is the ceiling of 3rd gear (SPORT); 1st caps at 15 mph and 2nd at 30 mph. Max range is 55 miles from the 60V 23.4Ah (1,404 Wh) pack, depending on rider weight and road conditions. A heavier rider holding a steady 40 mph covers the low end of that band; a lighter rider in a lower gear on flat ground covers the high end. We publish the conditions behind each figure, and how to measure your own, on the M3 real numbers page.

How do the two wheelie modes work? Does the M3 balance itself?

The wheelie modes are the M3’s 4th and 5th gears, and FRP calls the feature Auto-Wheelie. Shift to 4th (Wheelie) for a milder lift response while you are still learning, or 5th (Wheelie Pro) for stronger lift once you are experienced. Pull the front wheel up and the system keeps it there, while the throttle sets the angle: anywhere from half to full throttle gives you 20° to 45°. Braking stays with you, and as a safety backstop the system automatically exits wheelie mode if the bike goes past its preset tilt limit. Practice in an open, flat area, start in practice mode (4th gear) and always wear a helmet and protective gear. Our guide to learning wheelies on an electric mini bike walks through the practice order, and why the wheelie gears are capped at 10 mph explains the design behind it.

What brakes does the M3 have?

The M3 has front and rear dual-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 170 mm (6.7 in) stainless-steel rotors, each 3.5 mm thick. Hydraulic brakes need less lever effort than cable brakes and give you finer control. Pulling either brake lever also cuts motor power, so the motor never works against the brakes.

Does the M3 have suspension and lights?

Yes. Up front, a spring-hydraulic fork with 1.6 in of travel soaks up bumps, and 145/70-6 tubeless tires (max 24 psi) add cushioning. For visibility, the M3 has a headlight and a taillight that doubles as a brake light, plus a horn with three built-in sounds, or load your own over USB.

What safety and convenience features does the M3 have?

The M3 powers on with a customizable four-digit passcode, so there’s no ignition key to lose, and a separate key locks the battery compartment. After 30 seconds without input it shifts into Park (squeeze the brake to ride), and after 10 minutes idle it powers off to save the battery (adjustable from 0 to 60 minutes). Lowering the kickstand or pulling either brake lever cuts motor power. USB-A and USB-C ports (5V 3A) keep your phone charged, and the LCD shows speed, gear, battery level, trip and fault codes. A dedicated M3 companion app is in development; features and release details will be announced separately. The reasoning behind each control is in why a parked electric mini bike can suddenly take off.

What warranty does the M3 include?

Coverage starts on your delivery date: 1 year on the frame and main structure, 1 year on the electrical system (battery, motor, controller, display and wiring harness), and a 75-day limited warranty on smaller parts. You also get lifetime technical support and U.S. telephone customer support at 833-970-3777 (toll free, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm PST). Full terms are in the FRP After-Sales Policy for M3 Electric Bikes.
